REASON FOR INVESTIGATION

Many noises have been reported in the Olde Towne Mall in downtown Janesville which cannot be explained by natural causes. Some of these are a knocking, or rapping sound. Another more prominently heard noise is that of the doors rattling as if someone here holding the door handle and shaking it, sometimes very roughly.

Some have reported hearing a door open in another area of their office only to find no one there.

The only visual reports have been of seeing movement just out of the field of direct vision.

THE INVESTIGATION:

The focus of our investigation was on the third floor. We set up the video camera there that was connected to the monitor we were viewing on the 2nd floor. We also set up a motion detector on the 3rd floor as well as the audio recording equipment.

  While watching the remote view, we saw virtually nothing. We did, however hear many sounds. one that we dismissed until we looked into it further was a constant clicking noise that we had credited to the inner mechanics of the video camera, however upon reviewing the audio cassette, which was placed some distance from the camera, the same clicking can be heard on that recording also.

  Another sound that we witnessed was not unlike that of a broom handle falling to wooden floor. We saw nothing on the screen when this sound was heard.

  At a time when all three of us were watching the monitor, there was a distinct sound of a door closing as if it happened close to the camera, however nothing was seen on the monitor again. Perhaps the most perplexing sound was that of a dog barking, of course there was no dog present and this as well as the other sounds gave the impression of being in direct vicinity to the camera.

IN CONCLUSION :

While we witnessed nothing visual, there were the unexplained sounds coming from the unused 3rd floor of this building.
